Spanish Immersion Combined With Volunteering (Option 1)

Have the experiences of a lifetime while learning Spanish and playing an invaluable part to help change the lives and environment of Central America’s poorest yet most beautiful and intriguing country!

In cooperation with one of Leon’s best Spanish Schools we have created this unique volunteer program that incorporates learning Spanish during the mornings and volunteering in the afternoons. This combination provides a hands on learning experience everyday with local Nicaraguans. You will be living with a local family, which will provide an insight in to the Nicaraguan culture and also enforce your Spanish learning experience. This program runs four days a week giving you the opportunity to take part in the wide variety of activities Leon has to offer or take side trips to other parts of Nicaragua.

This is truly a life changing experience where you are guaranteed to walk away not only with a higher level of Spanish but also with true in depth knowledge and experience of Nicaraguan culture.

Spanish Immersion combined with volunteer and Eco Adventure expedition (Option 2)

This is a shortened version of the one-month volunteering program where in the second two weeks you take an adventure tour of Nicaragua’s greatest sites and attractions. This second option is based in the capital city of Managua.

Option 1

Day 1- You will be met at Managua airport by volunteer coordinator and transferred to Project location. Welcome dinner where you are introduced to host family and fellow volunteers.

Day 2 – Introduction to language school and teachers in the morning. In the afternoon you will be introduced to the project

Day 3 to Day 29 – Study Spanish and volunteer – This program is four days a week. During the free three days we offer you a wide range of options to maximize your time in Leon and Nicaragua.

Day 30 – Transfer to Managua

Option 2

Day 1 – Meeting at Managua airport by volunteer coordinator and transfer to Project location. Welcome dinner where you are introduced to host family and fellow volunteer and students.

Day 2 – Introduction and orientation to project and school - Meet the staff and learn about your project and studies.

Day 3 – Day 16 – Study and Volunteering

Day 17 – Free Day and transfer to Leon

Day 18 – City Tour and volcano boarding

Day 19 – Beach day including surf lessons and surfboard rental

Day 20 – Leon to Miraflor cloud forest reserve

Day 21 – Hiking, horse riding in the Miraflor cloud forest reserve

Day 22 – Transfer from Miraflor to Finca Espereanza verde in Matagalpa

Day 23 – Finca Esperenza verde

Day 24 – FEV to Granada

Day 25 – Zip lining on Mombacho volcano and exploring the city of Granada

Day 26 – Masaya, Pueblos Blancos and Laguna de apoyo

Day 27 – Transfer from Laguna de Apoyo to Ometepe

Day 28 – Hiking Maderas volcano, kayaking or relaxing

Day 29 – Transfer from Oemtepe to San Juan Del sur – Afternoon at the beach followed by goodbye party.

Day 30 – Transfer from San Juan Del Sur to Managua

What is Included during volunteer period:

• Transfers to Project and then on to Leon
